I never update here anymore - bad Jackie! Anyhow, there is a LOT of stuff going on rapid-fire with me right now - first off:

A brand new project I've been involved with doing all the interior artwork for! The Hidden Halls of Hazakor is a fully illustrated, 64+ page starter adventure for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons — and written with a special focus on young, beginning Dungeon Masters. We've done a couple interviews about the project if you want to hear me talk about it, and you can back the project here!

More roleplaying goodness! The latest in the Wandering Heroes wuxia-themed game from Bedrock Games, Strange Land of Li Fan just came out and features some awesome black and white illustrations from me! (In fact, I've done quite a lot for this series where you can check it all out!) Check out Bedrock Games to view the books and artwork!

That's right! I have a piece in the latest Game Grumps Fan Zine, where all the proceeds go to Child's Play Charities! My piece is a very bright and vibrant Snipperclips addition (which I just beat myself the other night, whee!) - you can go here to preorder your physical copy or net a digital edition!

I've been meaning to do something like this for a while since people asked, but here's a way to monitarily support my artwork so I can like... pay rent and eat food and stuff. Yeah. So head on over to Ko-fi and toss me a couple bucks if appreciate what I do and are so inclined. (Can't do that and still want to help?Go to my twitter, tumblr, insta or Facebook and do that like/comment/subscribe bb!)

...I think that's it?!? I'll keep you posted when there's more!

I love Kay and Peaches.  For a fantasy comic, it's really very true to life.  (My friend Goldstein is definitely a coyote.)  And I have to admit that it didn't end up going where I thought it was going; I always figured P was 'real,' but that he was the ghost of a kid killed in the house.  On the other hand, I always predicted that Juan/Eugene was connected to the amortal world and would be able to see P, so I got that right.

I think you must have slightly changed the direction of the comic from it's original intent, though, because up until Tio left, it was just K & P with a few passing oddities, and Juan is asking about P.  (see issue 9, page 13.)  If Juan/Eugene was always meant to be amortal, then he'd already know about skeletons.  And of course P. would have recognized Jack as a being of faerie.  But that's a minor nitpick; it would have deprived us of the 'mobster' joke.  And really, it's a been a great ride for 6 years!
Still, I have a question: It's about to be 6 years.  Plus a decade or so of Katie growing up, plus whatever years P. hid in that closet while it was an empty house.  Isn't there an amortal Voodoo sorceress out there looking for a misplaced skeleton?  Necro-magic can't be cheap.

Last thought: my favorite touch is that the Sphinx has a name made in heiroglyphics.
And that her owner practices all this Inuyasha shrine magic against P.

Looking forward to 2018 and the adventures of P. as he tries to cash his first check as a dishwasher!  I'm calling it first that they make it out to "Peaches Rossi."  But who knows?  Anyway it's a fun read!

Hey there! Thanks for all the lovely comments!

Without going into a huge novella about the whole thing - nope, it was totally planned from the start! I know pretty much the whole layout of the story beginning to end (not to say that it doesn't change things from time to time, but the major arcs are pretty set). If you look really closely at the exchanges, Juan (in his human-looking form) doesn't know for sure that P is even real - or a skeleton. People have mentioned that Kay "talks to ghosts" or just talks to herself a lot. I mean - she can't see what he is at that point, so why would he think she's anything more than a person who's perhaps just a little odd. P absolutely knew what Juan was - which is why he's so reticent about having him around (if you look a page or two later). It's the same with Jack - he's worried that some amortal might let the cat out of the bag - and he was right. Besides, just because Jack *is* an amortal certainly doesn't mean he couldn't be a mobster... maybe that's why he's so cagey about revealing personal details, ha ha.

And we will absolutely get to P and what's going on with him some more, don't you worry - if only I could make comics even faster!

Thanks so much for reading and I hope that it continues to entertain!
